playhood
Do you still make enough time to have fun? What is play to you? PLAYHOOD questions today’s performance society and starts a dialogue with the viewer. This humanwear collection gives one a new perspective on play, which originates from deep-rooted memories.
I grew up in a soccer family, where participating is more important than winning. It’s a memory that is dear to me and that takes me back to a carefree time. Soccer is not only a personal fascination of mine, but can also serve as a recognition point for others. It’s after all, the biggest game played in our society.
The collection is a fusion of alienated soccer gear and formal wear. You’ll find some interactive elements such as hidden messages which can be found with UV light, a wearable soccer table and funhouse mirror ties.
Many see play as something only children do, but this project search for ways to show that playing for adults can be cool too. So, “Don’t grow the fuck up”.
